Cheap Coffee Tables
Nothing brings the living room together like a great looking coffee table. You don’t have to break the bank getting one either. There are plenty of cheap coffee tables out there on the market that come in all kinds of materials, shapes, functionality, and styles. Whether you want to go for a great looking wood like cherry or walnut, or a wrought-iron design, or maybe even a glass top table, cheap deals are everywhere. Brands like Winsome Wood, Coaster furniture, DMI Office Furniture, or Cross country designs all offer cheap pricing when it comes to coffee tables. There are many different designs to consider when shopping around.
Cheap Cherry Coffee Tables: Cherry wood has long been a popular choice for great looking furniture and coffee tables. The dark red finish looks great in any setting. Some things to keep in mind- are you getting an actual cherry wood table, or is it a veneer finish? The latter will obviously be in the category of cheap coffee tables. If you want the real wood, then it’s going to get more expensive. For a 3 foot by 5 foot cherry coffee table you can expect to pay anywhere from $150 to $500 and up. However choose the veneer allows you to pay substantially less. You can expect to pay around $100 for the same table. For either the genuine cherry wood, or the veneer, if you add a glass inlay to the design, pricing will definitely go up.
Cheap Acrylic Coffee Tables: A popular medium for furniture design, and coffee tables alike, is acrylic. It takes a little more searching to get cheap coffee tables if you are going to go with acrylic. Maybe it’s the hype with the popularity of acrylic, but these tend to be seen as more contemporary, and the prices seem to be higher. However, cheap coffee tables that are acrylic can still be found. Baxton Studio and Modvilla offer a few cheaper designs. Some larger retail stores will have a good selection of cheap coffee tables as well.
Cheap Glass Inlay Coffee Tables: Theres nothing like adding a bit of glass to a table to really make it look elegant. Going cheap on this type of table can be risky. Is the glass very thin and succeptable to breaking easily? Or is it actually a plexiglass inlay? Just be careful when choosing a glass inlay coffee table. Plexiglass can scratch and become dull looking over time, but can really stand up to taking a beating from plates, drinks, silverware, and such. Spending a little more and getting true glass really makes the coffee table that much better. Glass thickness is easy to take a look at on the specs of the table within the product description. You want to make sure you are choosing a medium to thick glass inlay to be safe.
Storage Coffee Tables: A good and cheap coffee table that doubles as a storage piece is a brilliant idea for some, and for others it's a heavy nightmare. The more you pack into the storage area, the harder it is to move around, so keep that in mind if being able to move the table towards you while you eat and watch TV is what you'll be wanting. Talk about a great spot for magazines, coasters, place mats, DVD's...you name it, though. Some different designs will have simple drawers to pull out and put things in, where others actually have a top that flips upwards and storage is underneath in the hollow box that doubles as the frame of the table. These "flip-tops" can be great, yet a pain in the rear when you have a bunch of stuff on the table.
